Cayman Islands announce team to play Mexico

The Cayman Islands have confirmed their team to play Mexico in their North Zone pool match of the Americas Rugby North Championship at the Truman Bodden Complex in George Town on Saturday. A draw will be enough for Mexico to claim top spot in the North, while Cayman can still play the role of spoilers should they upset the Serpientes in which case USA South Panthers would advance to the final.

Head coach Garry Southway has named a strong lineup with skipper Chris Kennedy packing down alongside national 7s captain Mark Soto in a mobile forward pack. Strike runner Mikey Wilson forms a dangerous midfield combination with former Flying Fijian triallist Venasio Tokatokavarua, and there is searing pace in the form of try-scoring machine Justin Wight on the wing. Southway has opted for a 6-2 split on the bench with flankers Shane Westin and Alex Pineau both included.

Kickoff is set for 4pm local time. A live stream will be available on Cayman Rugby TV.
