Argentina vs England June 2017 – Full Match

Argentina hosted England in the first of two June Internationals on Saturday. Played in the western Argentine city of San Juan, the match was one of the best internationals in recent times.

In what was an intensely paced fixture the lead switched hands throughout. Errors from both teams were punished as eight tries rained down at the foot of the Andes.

The match was not only exciting based on tries. To the contrary a ferocious scrum battle was enjoyed by all forwards players past and present. Los Pumas also brought with them a powerful maul. The visitors from England produced a first class display of counter rucking.

Game 2 of the series will be played next Saturday, June 17. The teams will travel from San Juan to Santa Fé. It will be England’s first appearance at the Estadio Brigadier General Estanislao López. Prior Pumas matches in Santa Fé took place in 2007 and 2016 against Ireland and Italy respectively. Having won on both occasions Argentina i undefeated at the ground.
