Wooching set for Harlequins trial

Psalm Wooching will play for Aviva Premiership club Harlequins in the upcoming World Cup 10s tournament to be held in Mauritius on June 17 and 18. The 23-year-old outside back will be under close observation from coaching staff with an eye towards a potential deal for the upcoming Premiership season. Currently enlisted at Seattle Saracens, Wooching recently returned from a two-week trial with French Top 14 club Pau which did not eventuate in a contract.

The former Washington Huskies linebacker made headlines when he turned down inclusion in the 2017 NFL Entry Draft to instead pursue international rugby honors. Wooching has since attracted attention from Eagles 7s head coach Mike Friday though his chances of participation in the 2017-18 HSBC Sevens Series may be restricted should he receive an offer from Harlequins. The London-based club entered into a partnership with USA Rugby in 2015 and recently hosted new Eagles assistant coach Scott Lawrence as an observer of their professional structure and systems.
