Quesada’s Stade Français Win Again

Gonzalo Quesada’s Stade Français have won again. The Top 14 club downed the Cardiff Blues in a Champions Cup qualifying fixture this evening in Paris. The result sets up a Qualifying Final against the winner of the Northampton Saints vs Connacht.

Stade Français’ win was by a sizable margin. The Parisians played the Spring conditions superbly, winning 46-21.

The star of the match was flanker Sekou Macalou. The uncapped Frenchman was again playing out of position on the wing. Against the Cardiff Blues he crossed for two tries.

Quesada has used Macalou out of position based on Stade Français’ needs. It has been a screwed move previously as it was again. The former Puma number 10 also had the presence of Sergio Parisse in this evening’s game. The Argentine-Italian had a fine performance, even setting-up a try from a cross-kick.
