The Irish cities of Dublin and Limerick will host the Guinness Pro 12 Semi Finals this weekend. The two play-off matches in the Celtic Italian League are to be Irish provinces at home to Welsh regions.
First up will be Leinster taking on the Scarlets this evening. The visitors from Llanelli are to have Canadian flier DTH van der Merwe on the bench. With van der Merwe moving to the Newcastle Falcons next season a win is required for him to play a further match for the region.
On Saturday Munster will be at home to the Ospreys. Missing is Jeff Hassler. The Canadian winger’s recovery from injury continues. Fellow Canadian, Tyler Ardron will not feature in the Semi Final. He is moving to New Zealand to play Super Rugby for the Chiefs on a two-year-deal. It starts in 2018. Before then he will play in the Mitre 10 Cup for Bay of Plenty.
Involved from the Americas for the Ospreys will be Sam Underhill. The former England u20 player is from Ohio. He has been selected by Eddie Jones to play for England against Argentina next month. He is expected to earn his first test cap and this will see his eligibility officially captured by England.
