Uruguay has called-in five reinforcements for Brazil. The South American sides will go head-to-head on Saturday in a second round match of the South American ‘A’ Championship. This year’s competition carries with it special importance as matches double as Rugby World Cup qualifiers.
In round one Los Teros were victorious over Paraguay. The away win set them up well for their two remaining matches, both of which are home game. Brazil’s narrow loss against Chile sees them requiring an upset win over Uruguay to avoid elimination.
Added to the roster for Brazil are Felipe Berchesi, Manuel Diana, Juan Manuel Gaminara, Gastón Gibernau and Agustín Ormeachea. Of them Berchesi and Ormaechea are available having completed their seasons in France.
Diana replaces Alejandro Nieto who captained the team against Paraguay from No 8. Gaminara takes the spot of Santiago Hernández who was a replacement flanker for Franco Lamanna. Berchesi and Ormaechea are back in with Lucas Durán and Guillermo Lijtenstein dropping out. Gilbernau is in for the injured Nicólas Freitas.
