Americas Weekend Guide: Pro D2 Semi Finals

The Americas will have a vest interested in the French Pro D2 Semi Finals this weekend. Of course these are no average finals, with the Pro D2 Champions Oyonnax already crowned. This knock-outs will instead award the second promotion ticket to the Top 14 for whichever team can win the next two matches.

Of the seven players with Americas connections five are props, four being Argentina. Three will participate on Saturday evening. Home side Montauban will have Damian Arias as a reserve against Stade Montois. The visitors start Carlos Muzzio at loosehead with tighthead specialist Jeronimo Negrotto on the bench. Uruguay’s World Cup halfback Agustin Ormaechea will pull the strings for Mont-de-Marsan.

Sunday afternoon will see Agen welcome Biarritz to Stade Armendie. Canada’s Taylor Paris runs out on the left wing in what could be his final appearance for the club if they don’t win. USA-eligible prop Dave Ryan will be a second-half replacement. The fourth Argentine front rower is Leandro Assi, who covers the right side of the scrum for Biarritz.
