Argentina is to take on Ireland in November. Confirmation of Los Pumas’ visit to Dublin on November 25 sets in stone two of Argentina’s three end-of-year matches. On November 11 Argentina will face England in London. The third match is a yet to be confirmed match on November 18 against Italy.
The last time Ireland and Argentina met was in 2015. The match saw Argentina winning 43-20 to eliminated Ireland for the Rugby World Cup. It ended a run of five Irish wins between Rugby World Cups 2007 and 2015.
The most recent appearance of Argentina in Ireland was in November 2012. It was Argentina’s final ever November International with Santiago Phelan as Head Coach. Daniel Hourcade took over the following October, meaning he is yet to coach Los Pumas in Ireland.
This year’s test between Argentina and Ireland will be the final match of the year for both. Ireland will play host to South Africa and Fiji over he prior weekends. The match against the Springboks is to be a Sunday fixture, taking place on November 12.
All three of Ireland’s November Internationals are to be played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Ireland is bidding to host Rugby World Cup 2023. The bid includes the Aviva Stadium and additional venues from Dublin and throughout Ireland.
