North Americans Dominate Singapore Dream Team

A record five North American players have been selected in the official HSBC Dream team for the Singapore 7s. The stunning tournament result that saw Canada defeat the USA in an historic Cup Final has seen the two teams rewarded, though it’s the USA who are given three spots to Canada’s two.

Representing the Cup winners are star playmaker Nathan Hirayama, undoubtedly the player of the tournament who dazzled with his footwork to score 41 points in all including 21 against New Zealand in the Quarter Final. In-form speedster Justin Douglas is also rewarded for exceptional attacking play that opened holes in every game.

The USA once again contribute Perry Baker, who along with teammate Stephen Tomasin scored eight tries over the course of the weekend, a mark bested only by Fijian selection Waisea Nacuqu. Joining Tomasin in the forwards is powerhouse teammate Danny Barrett and emerging Australian star Simon Kennewell.
