Bristol Relegated from Aviva Premiership

Bristol have been relegated from the Aviva Premiership. The West Country side lost 36-21 this afternoon to the Wasps. The result means the club cannot catch the 11th placed Worcester Warriors and will, indeed, play in the RFU Championship.

Bristol won promotion from the RFU Championship last season but the side’s inability to win matches sees it returning immediately. The club has a record of 3 wins and 17 losses this season. Of the wins only one has occurred since the turn of the year.

In being relegated there are to be players from the Americas impacted. Currently on the books at Bristol are Pumas prop Gastón Cortes and Eagles center Thretton Palamo.

Americas Players of the past have also defended Bristol’s colors. Agustín Pichot and Felipe Contepomi formed the halves combination which took Bristol to the Premiership Final. Manuel Contepomi also played for the club as did José Maria Nuñez Piossek, Mariano Sambucetti and Canada’s Al Charron.
