Fry signs Vannes extension

Eric Fry will be staying with RC Vannes next season after signing a one-year contract extension. The 29-year-old has been a regular in the front row since joining the French Pro D2 club from Fédérale 1 side St. Nazaire in October. Vannes have enjoyed a respectable season after earning promotion last season and while they are not mathematically safe from relegation quite yet, with a 10-point buffer ahead of Albi their Pro D2 status looks in very good shape.

While he did not take part in the Americas Rugby Championship, Fry was part of the European tour in November and looks likely to be included the Eagles training squad for the June internationals. With 41 caps to his name he is the most experienced prop available and the second-most capped prop in USA history behind former skipper Mike MacDonald. Vannes is the sixth professional outfit that Fry has played for, starting with Manawatu in 2012 and continuing on to London Scottish, Newcastle Falcons, and the Sacramento Express before landing in France.
