Eagles Joe Taufete’e and AJ MacGinty both scored points in an Aviva Premiership thriller on Friday. Both USA players started the match with Taufete’e playing hooker for the Worcester Warriors who played away to the Sale Sharks. MacGinty started in his preferred position of fly half.
Taufete’e went over for the second of four Worcester tries. His score came from the back of a rolling maul, an encouraging sign as the Eagles prepare for upcoming Rugby World Cup qualifiers. MacGinty contributed four conversions and a penalty for a personal haul of 11 points.
The win does not change the position of either team in the Aviva Premiership. After 19 rounds the Sale Sharks remain in 10th position and Worcester 11th. With eight more points than Bristol, Worcester continue to retain a sufficient gap from the relegation zone.
