Dream Team selections for Pinkelman and Baker

US Eagles pair Ben Pinkelman and Perry Baker have been selected to the official HSBC Dream Team for the Hong Kong 7s. Pinkelman’s impact as a starter was notable in the opening pool stages and again in the Bronze final where his aerial skills and offloading ability shone. Baker was again the tournament’s leading try scorer with nine, touching down in all six of the USA’s games including three times against Scotland and twice against South Africa.

South African playmaker Cecil Afrika joins Baker in the backs along with Australia’s dynamic midfielder Henry Hutchison and Fijian ace Vatemo Ravouvou. Two more from the Cup winning Fiji side complete the forwards selection. The veteran Isake Katonibau marked his return to the circuit with some typically abrasive play up front while Kalione Nasoko had a breakthrough effort, his long strides taking him over the line on five occasions and his pace proving a major source of go-forward for his country.
