Black Thunder Win Mexico Campeonato Nacional

Black Thunder are Mexico’s national champions. The club from Naucalpan, just northwest of Mexico City won the Campeonato Nacional Final today, downing Cancún club, the Hammerheads 16-15.

The nail-bitting victory saw secured on the back of tries from Mexican international center Christian Henning and second-rower Santiago Prieto. Test fly half Miguel Carner also contributed points via his boot.

In losing the final Hammerheads Cancún Rugby Club have enhanced their reputation as being the Clermont Auvergne of Mexico.
