Te’o back on Sevens Circuit

The dancing feet of Mike Te’o are set to entertain the crowds on the HSBC Sevens Series once again. After a strong showing during the Americas Rugby Championship, Te’o has been called up by Mike Friday to join the Eagles 7s side for Hong Kong next weekend. It won’t be a first for Te’o but it marks the end of a three-year hiatus from the HSBC circuit for the 23-year-old, who was part of the team from 2012 to 2014.

Also called up is Davenport forward Anthony Welmers, who made his debut as a replacement in Cape Town this past December. Te’o and Welmers are the only additions to the squad from the team that finished 4th in Vancouver. Missing out to make room are Pat Blair and Walt Elder.

Malon Al-Jiboori will again travel with the side as the 13th man, but will also see game time with Samurai Rugby in the Hong Kong 10s tournament. Joining the USA in Pool D are Scotland, Russia, and Argentina. The three-day tournament kicks off on April 7.
