Jaguares Call in Argentina XV Cavalry for Reds

Los Jaguares have called in Argentina XV cavalry for the Reds. The Argentine Super Rugby franchise will play host to the Queensland state side in Buenos Aires on Saturday.

The match is to be Los Jaguares’ first against a non-South African side this year. Los Jaguares are coming off a 41-14 win over the Cheetahs. Having missed the match with an ankle injury, Guido Petti is now back to fitness and training.

With other players under an injury cloud Head Coach Raúl Pérez has called up hooker Gaspar Baldunciel, winger Julián Domínguez and center Bruno Devoto.  The trio were all involved with the Argentina XV in the Americas Rugby Championship.

Missing from training this morning were two hookers and two wingers – Agustín Creevy, Julián Montoya, Santiago Cordero and Manuel Montero. Of the four Creevy is the only player expected to play against the Reds. Baldunciel is now involved as cover. Either he or Roberto Tejerizo will fill the void left from Montoya.

Pérez is to have both Nicolás Sánchez and Enrique Pieretto available. Having served suspensions both players will be free to face the Reds. Also back is Juan Manuel Leguizamón. The veteran flanker joins Petti in returning to fitness.
