Injuries Mounting for Jaguares Ahead of Facing Cheetahs

Injuries are mounting for Los Jaguares ahead of facing the Cheetahs. Before losing Nicolás Sánchez to suspension Matías Moroni had already been ruled out for at least three weeks. Now more players are set to be ruled out of Saturday1’s home match.

Cristian Bartoloni is to miss the match. The 21-year-old prop will not be fit and star second-rower, Guido Petti is set to join him. Petti was unable to complete training today in Buenos Aires. Complaining of pain in his left ankle, Petti was pulled from practice.

A medical report is yet to be released. As such Petti’s avaliability is not known. Should he be ruled out then Marcos Kremer will take his spot, joining Matías Alemanno in the second-row. Kremer is yet to start a Super Rugby match.

Set to make his first start of the season is Juan Martín Hernández. The veteran play-maker trained in place of Sánchez at fly half today. Joaquín Díaz Bonilla is yet to return to contract training. He suffered a knock to his head in the opening round match against the Southern Kings.

With Sánchez out and Díaz Bonilla set to remain sidelined Santiago González Iglesias is set to return to the team. He is likely to be Hernández’ deputy, wearing the no 22 shirt.

Also missing from today’s training was Matías Orlando. The Tucumán center was absent for personal reasons. In his absence Jerónimo de la Fuente trained at outside center. This saw Bautista Ezcurra filling the spot at inside center. Ezcurra is yet to receive game time in Super Rugby.
