Uruguay hosted Chile in the first of two matches between the countries this year. The outcome of their result in Montevideo this weekend saw Uruguay finishing third in the Americas Rugby Championship. Chile was unable to score a competition point in this year’s competition.
The teams are to meet again in the South American Cup. Brazil and Paraguay will also compete. The prize for the winner is a series against the loser of Canada vs USA. The winner of that two match series is to qualify for Rugby World Cup 2019.
