Kelter, Tapper, Benn named to Las Vegas Dream Team

A trio of Americas players have been named to the official HSBC Dream Team for the Las Vegas 7s. Both Canada and the USA had strong showings once again at the tournament, with Canada defeating their hosts in the Bronze Final.

Eagles captain Alev Kelter is no surprise given her outstanding all-around performance throughout at Sam Boyd Stadium. The try-scoring efforts of Naya Tapper are also recognized.

Canada have managed only one player in the side despite their impressive play. Britt Benn enjoyed her best tournament of the season and is suitably rewarded. Team captain Ghislaine Landry is a curious absentee after leading the tournament in scoring with an incredible 66 points including eight tries over the course of the weekend.

Tournament winners New Zealand contribute two players to the squad. Olympic star Portia Woodman is given the nod along with Series try-scoring leader Michaela Blyde. Australian co-captain Sharni Williams is among the forwards, while aggressive Fijian standout Tima Ravisa rounds out the team.
