Chile rotate squad for Uruguay

Bernard Charreyre has once again opted for change with seven alterations from the team that was defeated by the USA last weekend. Chile have yet to find a win in the 2017 Americas Rugby Championship and have now lost eight consecutive matches in the tournament. Los Cóndores have defeated Uruguay before but playing on their home turf in Montevideo against a team that has just defeated Canada will be a big challenge.

Claudio Zamorano and Benjamín Soto each return from one-game suspensions to take their place in the run-on side. Zamorano comes in at loosehead prop for Vittorio Lastra while Soto takes over from Manuel Dagnino at the back of the scrum. Cristóbal Niedmann replaces Arturo Seeman on the blindside flank with the trio of Lastra, Dagnino, and Seeman all found on the bench. Promising tighthead Lucas Bordigoni is set to make his first appearance of the ARC as a reserve.

The revolving door at scrumhalf continues with Juan Pablo Larenas recalled and Sergio Bascuñan swapped to a reserve role. Simón Pardakhty and Franco Velarde are out in the midfield and back in are Ricardo Sifri and José Ignacio Larenas. On the right wing there is a first ARC start for Mauricio Urrutia replacing Matías Contreras, and impressive youngster Rodrigo Fernández wins a recall at fullback with Pedro Verschae the one to miss out.
