Full Match Video – Glendale Raptors vs Austin Huns

The Austin Huns traveled to Infinity Park on Saturday to play the Glendale Raptors. What the video shows might be a window into the future. Details continue to trickle out about the arrival of Major League Rugby in 2018, with a formal announcement now expected later this summer. Two of the lead clubs involved are the Huns and Raptors, with each already taking definite steps towards professionalism.

On paper Glendale’s lineup is impressive with seven capped Eagles, with the Huns fielding Junior All-American standouts Mason Pedersen and Michael Reid. Missing on current international duty are Huns flankers Todd Clever and Hanco Germishuys, as well as Glendale pair Ben Tarr and Will Magie.

While the standard of rugby certainly leaves room for improvement, of more importance is the production itself. The camera work is impressive, commentary is provided by the very experienced Dallen Stanford and Brian Vizard, and there is even access to a TMO for referee Nick Ricono. Not even the Americas Rugby Championship can claim that!
