Sánchez Gives Jaguares a Boost

The return of Nicolás Sánchez has given Los Jaguares a boost. Sánchez has been with the team in South Africa but was not considered for the opening round match against the Southern Kings this past weekend. Joaquín Díaz Bonilla made his Super Rugby debut in place of Sánchez but was forced off following a head-clash.

Díaz Bonilla formed a halves combination with Gonzalo Bertranou. Today’s training had Sánchez working with Bertranou while Felipe Ezcurra and Santiago González Iglesias trained as the alternative option.

Not participating in today’s training was Matías Moroni. The outside center suffered a deep cut to his ear against the Southern Kings. He is avoiding physical contract during the week but is expected to be declared fit to play in round two.

The Stormers have injury concerns of their own. The 22-time capped Damien de Allende has been ruled out for twelve weeks with an ankle injury. de Allende started at inside center in round one.

Los Jaguares are training at Hamilton Sea Point Rugby Club in Cape Town. Their round two match will be against the Stormers on Saturday. Having knocked-over the Bulls 37-24 in round one the Stormers will be a step-up to that of the Southern Kings.
