Costa Rica, Canada Mourn the Loss of Peter Scouras

The Rugby Federation of Costa Rica (FRCR) and the entire national rugby community, would like to convey its mourning in the unfortunate death of Peter Scouras during an extra curricular activity in Playa Hermosa, Jaco.

The news is an absolute shock that has sent waves across the entire rugby community in Costa Rica. Peter as well as his club the U of M Wombats, had created a wonderful friendship with the Costa Rica rugby community as well as the other visiting delegations in the Tournament held this past weekend.

Scouras demonstrated his strength, nobility, and leadership both off and on the pitch. He gallantly defended the flag of his country, Canada, and was an invaluable member of his University of Manitoba Wombats rugby club. His passion for the game and outreach is a memory the FRCR will continue to keep alive in his memory.

We at the FRCR send our most sincere condolences to Peter’s family as well as his rugby friends all around the world. We will miss you, but you will not be forgotten our friend. Rest In Peace.

Rugby Federation of Costa Rica.
