Americas Weekend Guide – Aviva Premiership Round 15

Wasps will be clear on top of the Aviva Premiership table for at least another week as Saracens dropped their Friday evening clash with Gloucester in a 31-23 surprise result. Argentine second row Mariano Galarza earned bragging rights as a replacement for the winners with countrymen Juan Figallo and Marcelo Bosch each starting for Sarries.

Saturday’s action sees Bristol traveling to Welford Road to play Leicester Tigers. Gastón Cortes continues on the right side of the front row while Thretton Palamo is named on the wing for the first time in his professional career, replacing the injured Tom Varndell.

St. Lucia native Marland Yarde also wings in for Harlequins against Bath, and there will be a first for US Eagles hooker Joe Taufete’e who is set to make his Premiership debut from the bench when Worcester host Exeter Chiefs. It won’t be easy, but the Warriors will be looking for a much-needed win to distance them away from Bristol and the dreaded relegation zone.

Another Eagles rep is named as a reserve for Sale Sharks. AJ MacGinty will play backup to Sam James as the Sharks welcome Wasps to AJ Bell Stadium. Sale have not had a great season and will need a major effort to topple the league leaders, even on their own turf.

Juan Pablo Socino will run out at inside centre for Newcastle Falcons with Canadian lock Evan Olmstead on the bench to face Northampton Saints. Argentine Olympic participant Juan Pablo Estelles has recovered from injury to take up a reserve role for Saints.
