Eagles change six for Canada clash

Todd Clever returns to lead the US Eagles against Canada in their cross-border clash at Swangard Stadium on Saturday evening. The USA’s most capped player of all-time returns to the starting lineup in one of six changes made by coach John Mitchell for the pivotal Americas Rugby Championship match.

It’s all change in the front row with Anthony Purpura, Peter Malcolm, and Chris Baumann all restored to the starting lineup after seeing bench duty against Brazil. Tony Lamborn is retained at openside flank with Cam Dolan starting at no8 and Clever in on the blindside.

The only change in the backline sees Ryan Matyas made his first appearance since last year’s ARC on the right wing in place of Spike Davis, who is among the reserves this week. David Tameilau also wins a recall to the bench while 20-year-old second row Siaosi Mahoni is set to make his test debut as a replacement.
