More injury woes for Jaguares

The injuries keep mounting for Los Jaguares. Less than two weeks away from their season opener against the Kings on February 26, three more veterans have been added to the disabled list.

First choice tighthead prop Ramiro Herrera has suffered a calf tear in training, and flanker Javier Ortega Desio has a torn sartorius muscle. Both will miss out on the Kings match. Powerful winger Manuel Montero is again in trouble, taking a blow to the eye which has left him with a corneal ulcer of ‘moderate severity’. It’s hoped he will fit in time to play next weekend.

Already ruled out is scrumhalf Martín Landajo with a broken leg, not expected back until April. Flyhalf Nicolás Sánchez tore a quadriceps muscle and will miss at least the opener, while loose forward Juan Manuel Leguizamón is out for at least another month with knee ligament damage. Outside back Matías Moroni is recovering from an elbow injury suffered in the warm-up against Uruguay but is expected to be fit for selection against the Kings.
