ARC 2017: Canada vs Argentina XV – Full Match

Canada and the Argentina XV met in the opening round of the 2017 Americas Rugby Championship. Cold weather saw the field covered in snow in the days leading up to the contest and, indeed on the day of the match itself. The ground staff deserve praise for clearing the key areas of the field to make it playable.

Victories over Canada in international competition in 2016 made the Argentina XV the favorites to win in British Columbia. The chill factor, nonetheless, certainly played it s part with scrum half Sebastián Cancelliere visibly feeling the cold and being removed from the field.

The Felipe Contepomi coached side ultimately had too much class and gas for the Canadians. The two tries to nil victory gives the South Americans into favorites tag for the title. In 2016 the Argentina won the tournament. With four wins and a draw they were the only undefeated team. In 2017 they are eyeing a perfect five victories.
