North Americans dominate Sydney Dream Team

An unprecedented five North Americans have been named to the official HSBC Women’s Dream Team for the Sydney 7s. The selections come on the back of another historic first, an all-Americas Cup Final between Canada and the USA.

Selected from the winning Canadian team are captain and playmaker Ghislaine Landry, outstanding forward Jen Kish, and hard-running Britt Benn. From the USA are try-scoring machine Naya Tapper and star halfback Alev Kelter.

Of the two players not from the Americas only one comes from hosts Australia, Olympic star Charlotte Caslick. The seventh selection was the electric Joanne Lagona, who won widespread praise for her individual skills while representing minnows Papua New Guinea.
