Americas Weekend Guide – Anglo-Welsh Cup Round 4

It’s a relatively quiet week on the European front for Americas players. With the French leagues on hiatus and several called for national rugby in the Americas Rugby Championship, there is but a handful of representatives set to run out in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.

Friday sees only one player named, an on the bench at that. Juan Pablo Estelles will suit up for Northampton Saints against Scarlets in what promises to be a one-sided affair at Franklin’s Gardens. Saints will field a side brimming with first team talent including six full internationals. Scarlets meanwhile have named a team largely composed of club players brought in from across the region.

Saturday will two players of interest to USA fans taking part. Cam Dolan will lead out the Cardiff Blues for the second successive week, this time against Worcester Warriors. Following the match he well depart to join up with the Eagles for the remainder of the ARC. Uncapped Chicago-born prop Paddy Ryan will start at tighthead for Newcastle Falcons when they host Bath.

Tyler Ardron made his return to action from injury last weekend, and he takes the next step this week as he starts on the blindside flank for Ospreys who are away at Wasps. Saracens play host to Leicester at Allianz Park with Titi Lamositele named among the reserves.
