A double for the Americas took place this weekend as a player from either team scored in Bayonne vs Brive. Martín Bustos Moyano and Taku Ngwenya both scored in the round 17 match of the French league.
The former Puma scored in the 71st minute while the Eagle did so on full-time. Bustos Moyano’s fortuitous try came from a chip-kick. With Brive failing to handle it Bayonne were able to convert a Brive error into their own try. Ngwenya had far more work to do. His try saw him splitting the defense to leave three would-be defenders in his tracks.
Needing a home win, Bayonne got the job done. Their 33-23 win sees Bayonne now sitting on 20 competition points. With the 12th placed Lyon also winning it was not enough to close the gap required to get out of the relegation zone.
