Americas will Collide in Sydney

The Americas will be sandwiched together in one pool as the draw for the Sydney 7s has been made. Canada will headline Pool D after their excellent 4th place finish in Wellington, with Argentina, the USA, and Russia completing the pool. Ranked 12th, Canada trail 9th-ranked Argentina by only four points on the overall Series table, with USA in 10th and exactly two points away from both. Russia are are currently 14th and with only eight points three short of Samoa and another 10 behind the Canadians.

Defending champions and Series leaders South Africa sit at the top of Pool A, with England, Kenya, and Japan also present. Pool B is comprised of Olympic champions Fiji, France, Wales, and Samoa. Finally Pool C contains Wellington Bronze winners Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. The HSBC Sevens Series resumes on Saturday, February 2.
