Toulon outbid Toulouse to Acquire Facundo Isa

According to L’Equipe Toulon have outbid Toulouse to acquire Facundo Isa. The French sporting outlet reports that Toulouse’s signing of the Argentine No 8 was virtually registered only for Toulon to enter the picture and put in a bigger offer.

The move will see the now 23-year-old returning to Toulon, the club in which he first played professional rugby for in the 2013-2014 season.

The actions of Toulon’s Mourad Boudjellal came after Toulouse and Isa had agreed to terms. A two-year contract had been finalized with Isa’s signature the only missing piece to finalize the move.

The imminent departure of Isa from Argentina has seen him blocked from training with Los Jaguares this week. It also means that Isa will not be able to add to his 25 Pumas caps this year. He will have to wait until completing his two years in France in June 2019 before doing so.

Los Jaguares Head Coach Raúl Pérez commented on losing Isa. “We are used to this and our idea is to always continue building“. Pérez used veterans Juan Manuel Leguizamón and Leonardo Senatore at No 8 in Monday’s warm-up match against Uruguay. The team will take-on the Argentina XV on Friday.
