Viña Del Mar 7s – Day 1 Results

Argentina and Fiji are again the top dogs at the end of Day 1 at the second leg of the Sudamerica 7s Series in Viña Del Mar. Neither side had any trouble with their competitors and the pair now look certain of meeting again in the Gold Final in what would be a rematch of the final in Punta Del Este a week ago.

A narrow win by Uruguay over the USA Falcons in Pool A puts the Teros in second place with a quarter-final match against Canada set for Day 2. Brazil struggled, scoring only three tries in three games and losing all comprehensively.

It was Chile to claimed second spot in Pool B with a comfortable win over the Maple Leafs, leading 22-0 at the half to come away 27-14 winners. Canada restored some pride in their final match of the day as a Josiah Morra hat-trick inspired a 36-12 win over Colombia, who themselves showed improvement despite losing all three of their games.

All Day 2 fixtures will be streamed live at the official Viña Del Mar 7s website.
