Americas Weekend Guide – Challenge Cup Week 5

The major European leagues including the Aviva Premiership, Guinness Pro 12 and Top 14 take a break this weekend. In place will be week 5 of the Challenge Cup. Here we let you give you an Americas Weekend Guide – detailing who will be in action.

The opening match will be an all-French match-up. It will see two teams in contrasting form. Bayonne are facing relegation while La Rochelle are defying all odds to sit in second position. Featuring for Bayonne will be Chile’s Ramón Ayarza. He will be the team’s replacement Loose head prop. Leandro Cedaro will start for La Rochelle in the second-row.

Game two will be the first of three Friday matches. Grenoble will host the Newcastle Falcons. The French side will roll out its wider roster members as all efforts are on avoiding relegation in the Top 14. The Falcons are playing extremely well in the Aviva Premiership and that is where they are focused. Their team this weekend is missing all the regulars.

USA Eagle Thretton Palamo will start at outside center for Bristol. The Californian will do so against Bath in what is a west country derby. His form for Bristol is highly encouraging for Eagles supporters.

Lineups for the Saturday and Sunday fixtures are yet to be confirmed. Expected to be involved are Argentina’s Felipe Arregui, Agustín Figuerola, Mariano Galarza, Taku Ngwenya of the USA and Canadians Robert Barbieri and Connor Braid.
