Jaguares Suffer Hernández Blow

The year has not started well for veteran Juan Martín Hernández. The Jaguares inside center has been ruled out of rugby for a month, handing Los Jaguares a significant blow.

In the first training session of the year Hernández collided with second-rower Juan Cruz Guillemaín. The impact caused facial trauma and a fracture. His recovery time required 48 hours of immediate rest to be followed by one month without physical contact.

Hernández may therefore be fit to play in the opening round of Super Rugby. Los Jaguares play way to the Southern Kings on February 25 in Port Elizabeth.

Los Jaguares’ injured list includes five players. Of the 44-man roster Hernández joins Emiliano Boffelli, Tomás Lavanini, Nicolás Sánchez and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro as not training at 100%. Missing is Facundo Bosch who has left Argentina to play in France.
