Wild Geese RFC Set to Tour Cuba

The Wild Geese RFC is set to tour Cuba. Based in Baltimore, Maryland the club will embark on a six-day trip to Cuba this week. Involved will be 30 players in the “El Cubano Ron y Cigarros Recorrido” (The Cuban Rum and Cigars Tour).

Rugby and tourism are both to be features of the tour. The first of three matches in Havana will be on Sunday January 15. The Wild Geese RFC will play a 40 minute match against the 35+ aged Havanan side.

Match two will be played under the Rugby Sans Frontiers banner. Taking to the field will be a mixture of players from the USA, Argentina, Cuba and Europe. Match three will be against a 35+ side.

The Wild Geese Rugby Club is based in the Baltimore, MD, Washington, D.C., Alexandria, VA area. The Wild Geese have a 25 year tradition of “Old Boys” Rugby that is known for good play, a welcoming attitude, and great camaraderie. Full details of the tour are on the Wild Geese RFU website.
