Americas Players in Pro D2: Week 16

There are to be a host of Americas Players involved in Week 16 of the Pro D2. Week 16 opened on Thursday evening. Third placed Aurillac had home advantage against competition leaders Agen. Aurilllac were able to get the job done, winning 19-16. Canadian flier Taylor Paris played right wing for Agen. The USA eligible Dave Ryan was a replacement.

The Pro D2 continues on Friday. The 8th placed Carcassonne will host Oyonnax in the opening fixture of the day. An away win will see Oyonnax back to the top of the ladder. Veteran of four Rugby World Cups for Canada, Jamie Cudmore, will play second-row for Oyonnax.

Former Argentina u20’s prop Damian Arias will feature for Montauban. The former Top 14 side will play host to Vannes, a club in the Pro D2 for the first time. Arias will play on the bench for one side while Bautista Guemes will for the other.

Four Argentine players will feature for Colomiers who host Bourgoin. Agustín Costa Repetto will start at hooker with the three others all featuring as replacements. Damien Weber and Ariel Castellina will cover prop while the Carcassonne-bound Demian Panizzo will cover second-row. Leandro Perez Galeone will play No 8 for Bourgoin.

Sebastián Poet, Facundo Panceyra Garrido and Bruno Mercanti will all feature for Charente who play away to Beziers on Friday. Poet will play fly half, Panceyra Garrido wing and Mercanti will be the replacement hooker. Curiously none of the three are from Buenos Aires. Instead Poet is from Rosario, Panceyra Garrido from Córdoba and Mercanti is from Bahía Blanca.

Three more Argentine players will feature in Biarritz vs Dax. Leandro Mario Assi will play for the home side at hooker. Playing flanker for Dax will be Martín Chiappessoni while Ignacio Mieres will play as a replacement back.

Week 16 will close on Saturday will one fixture – Mont de Marsan vs Perpignan. lineups for this match will be made available on Friday afternoon.
