Canada Maple Leafs Named for South America

The Canada Maple Leafs roster has been named for South America. The Canadian development team will compete in the upcoming international competitions in Punta del Este, Uruguay and Viña del Mar, Chile.

The Canadians will be looking to their youth to produce better results than last year. In 2016 the Canadians won 3 and lost 9 matches. The difference this year being the return of the Punta del Este 7’s in place of Argentina’s Mar del Plata 7’s.

Sean Liebich, Rugby Canada’s Manager of National Senior Men’s Sevens said “These two tournaments are critical opportunities for these players to showcase their skills in a quality competition environment.”

Group A: Fiji, Canada, Chile, Colombia
Group B: Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, United States
