The Fiji roster has been announced for Punta del Este. They are the special invitees, or attraction, at the South American 7’s. Remaining competitors are all from the Americas.
The 2016 Olympic Gold Medalists will be fielding an ‘A’ side known as the Fiji Baabaas 7’s. Traveling to Punta del Este will be 12 athletes.
The tournament is the most important 7’s event in the year for Uruguay. It is to be played on January 6-7. The tournament is also to be the first of two involving Fiji. The second will be on January 14-15 in Viña del Mar, Chile.
In Punta del Este Fiji will compete in Group A against Canada, Chile and Colombia. Group B will consist of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and the USA.
