Peterson Signs New Two-Year Contract with Glasgow

USA forward, Greg Peterson has signed a new two-year contract with Glasgow. The deal means the Eagles second-rower has secured his professional playing future at elite level until Rugby World Cup 2019. The 25-year old Peterson will remain playing in Scotland until at least May 2019.

Peterson joined the Guinness Pro 12 side in the summer of 2015. He made the move from the Premiership side after having played for the Leicester Tigers. Prior to that he played Super Rugby for the New South Wales NSW Waratahs.

Having made his test match debut against Romania in 2014, Peterson went on to play in Rugby World Cup 2015. He played in three of the four pool matches for the USA. His one test match appearance in 2016 was in June against Italy in San José, California.

His 12 test caps to date have been against a range of opposition. They include Australia, Canada, Fiji, Italy, Japan, Romania, Samoa, Scotland and Tonga. He is expected back for the June 2017 internationals and Rugby World Cup 2019 qualifiers against Canada.

At the Glasgow Warriors Peterson has made 18 appearances thus far. He is presently not playing and, rather, undergoing rehab on his shoulder. Surgery forced him out of the Eagles November Internationals. He is expected to be fit for Glasgow in January.
