Americas Players in Champions Cup – Round 4

Round 4 of the Champions Cup will be played this weekend. Involved are to be a range of players from the Americas.

First up will be Glasgow Warriors vs Racing 92. Taking place at a sold out Scotstoun Stadium will be a must-win match for the 2016 French champions. Having lost at home last weekend a range of changes have been made. Both Manuel Montero and Juan Imhoff are among the casualties. Starting for Glasgow will be Tennessee’s Tommy Seymour.

Leicester’s must-win match against Munster will see an injury ravaged side face the southern Irish province. Still not fit to play is Marcos Ayerza. Leicester have been struggling at scrum time without El Toro.

Toulouse will host Zebre, doing so without Patricio Albacete. The veteran has been at the club for eleven years. Starting for the visiting Italians will be Bruno Postiglioni. He is to be one of two former Pumas props involved. The other is Guillermo Roan who will play from the bench.

In west Wales the Scarlets will host Toulon on Sunday. Canadian flier DTH van der Merwe  will play right wing for the hosts. Toulon’s bench will carry significant power. Both Samu Manoa and Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe will play as replacements.

In search of back-to-back wins Montpellier will be all guns blazing against Castres. The home side is to have a South American contingent. Former Pumas Horacio Agulla and Benjamin Urdapilleta will play wing and fly half respectively. Regular captain, Rodrigo Capó Ortega will not feature.

One of the best matches of 2016 was played in Belfast last weekend. On Sunday the return fixture will be Clermont at home to Ulster. Playing from the bench for the French side will be Patricio Fernández.

The final fixture will see the Sale Sharks at home to Saracens. Sale were well-beaten in Northern London in round 3. Back starting at fly half will be AJ MacGinty. Try scorers Marcelo Bosch and Chris Wyles will both start again. Juan Figallo has been named on the bench.
