Americas Players in B&I Cup – Round 4

With most teams opting to field entirely second string sides it’s a mixed bag of Americas players in the British & Irish Cup this weekend. Five Canadians, four Argentines, and one US Eagle will take part in round four of the competition between the RFU Championship clubs and Guinness Pro 12 reserve sides.

Saturday will see the USA’s only man in action Cam Dolan playing no8 for Cardiff Premiership Select against Ulster Ravens. Ealing Trailfinders have Argentina’s Ignacio Sáenz Lancuba as a reserve this week for the home game against Bedford Blues. Justin Blanchet will be an impact sub for the visitors. Richmond host Nottingham and will look to former Canadian international Tyler Hotson to provide experience with Argentine flanker Adam Lee wearing no6.

A trio of World Cup players take part at Mennaye Field on Sunday. Ciaran Hearn is on the wing again for London Irish as they hit the road to Cornwall. For the Pirates, Matt Evans returns to the run-on side at fullback while second row Brett Beukeboom gets a partial rest with bench duty beside uncapped Argentine midfielder Nicolás de Battista. His compatriot Santiago Socino continues on loan to Rotherham and will start at hooker for Titans against Munster ‘A’ at Ennis RFC in County Clare.
