Argentina Return to face England in November 2017

Argentina will return to face England in November 2017. Eddie Jones’ team will host Argentina in the first of three home matches for the European side next November.

England will play against Argentina on Saturday November 11 at London’s Twickenham Stadium. Australia and Samoa will both play at the same venue on following Saturday afternoons.

The tour will bring to an end the international year for England. Now ranked number 2 in the world the English will not play a match in 2017 against the world number 1, New Zealand. Rather the British & Irish Lions will tour New Zealand in June and July.

During the British & Irish Lions tour England will play test rugby. Confirmed is a two match tour of Argentina. Los Pumas will host England on June 10 and 17, doing so in San Juan and Santa Fé. A possible third match in South Africa has been discussed with Uruguay looking to host England.

The November fixture between the countries will be the third match between the sides in 2017. It also follows an international this year in which England won despite losing a player to an early red card.

In returning to Twickenham in 2017 Argentina will be playing twice at the home of English rugby within the same Rugby World Cup cycle. In the past appearances have been limited to one match. England’s one home match against New Zealand between Rugby World Cups 2015 and 2019 is to be in November 2018.
