Quesada to Depart Stade Français at the End of the Season

Gonzalo Quesada is to depart Stade Français at the end of the season. The former Puma will leave his post of Head Coach to be replaced by Greg Cooper. The former All Black will take over on a three-year deal.

Quesada arrived at Stade Français from Racing 92 in 2013. During his time at the club he successfully coached the club to Top 14 glory in 2015. It marked a remarkable turnaround after the Parisian club had performed poorly prior to Quesada taking over.

The Argentine coach was honored in January of this year at the Nuit du Rugby. His achievements were acknowledged with him winning the Coach of the Year award.

Yet recent events at the club have led to turmoil. Last month Quesada was reported to be set to leave Stade Français. In his contract he has a clause which would enable him to leave the club in June 2016. To do so he would need to let the club know by December 31. It has now become official that this has transpired.

Aged 42, Quesada is a widely respected coach. His next move remains unknown. At some point he may field offers from the UAR to become involved with Los Jaguares of Los Pumas.
