Americas Players in Pro D2 – Week 13

With the November internationals now in the books, a number of Americas players will make an immediate return to action with their European club sides. One who wasn’t involved in the tests is uncapped Argentine prop Leandro Assi, who was a half-time replacement for Biarritz during their 22-19 win over Perpignan in the only game on Thursday.

Six games will take place on Friday. Two of Uruguay’s finest will switch straight from Bucharest to France. Flyhalf Felipe Berchesi is preferred in the midfield by Carcassonne when they head to Agen. Halfback partner Agustín Ormaechea will be a reserve for Mont-de-Marsan along with Argentina XV prop Carlos Muzzio as they travel to Aurillac.

At Bourgoin there will be three Argentines on duty with Leandro Pérez Galeone at no8 for the home team. Sebastian Poet plays flyhalf with Facundo Panceyra Garrido on the right wing for visiting Charente. Ignacio Mieres starts at no10 for Dax who welcome prop Lucas Martínez and Albi to Stade Maurice Boyau.

Americas players from three different nations will be on show for Vannes when they host Béziers. Former Pumas hooker Martín García Veiga is joined by an interesting midfield that sees Bautista Güemes paired with Canadian Conor Trainor. US Eagles prop Eric Fry is on the bench along with Argentine second row Javier Lagioiosa.

David Tameilau made his debut for Narbonne a week ago and could feature again on Sunday when Oyonnax come to town. Jamie Cudmore played for Canada in Grenoble last Friday evening and is likely to make his club return for the visitors.
