The teams have been announced for today’s Portugal vs Brazil Test Match. The Portuguese speaking countries will meet in historic Coimbra for the second international between the countries.
Played in 2013, the prior international saw Portugal romping to a 68-0 win in São Paulo. The likelihood of such a result being repeated is low. Brazil has progressed while Portugal has not. The Portuguese now find themselves in the third division of European rugby.
Brazilian Head Coach Rodolfo Ambrosio will have eight players who are returnees from the 2013 fixture. Such a number underlines the growing experience of os Tupis at a time when increasing opportunities are arriving.
In relation to the team which faced Germany on Saturday there are four changes. The USA based Flávio Chuahy will start at Tight Head prop. João Luiz da Ros returns at flanker while Moíses moves from center to fly half. This change sees Luan Smanio starting at inside center.
Of Portugal’s lineup there are three returnees from 2013. They are Gonçalo Uva, Bruno Medeiros and Francisco Pinto. Having played in Rugby World Cup 2007, Uva remains in the team nine years on.
