Guatemala has selected 25 Players for the South American C Championship. This year’s edition of the Four Nations tournament will get underway on Sunday. Guatemala are the defending champions having won in 2015.
As was the case a year ago the prize for the winner is the opportunity to qualify for the South American B Championship. Guatemala faced Ecuador in repechage in August, losing by a single point. That result confirmed Ecuador in the South American B Championship and Guatemala one division lower.
As was the case in 2015 Guatemala will be joined by Costa Rica, El Salvador and Panama. As the 2015 winner, Guatemala will play against the wooden spooner, Panama in the opening round. Costa Rica will take-on El Salvador in the remaining fixture.
The two winning teams from Sunday’s matches will meet in round two as will the tow losing countries. Round two will take place on Wednesday, December 07. The Final and Bronze Final will be played on Saturday December 10.
