Romania Complete Perfect November, Downing Uruguay

Romania completed the perfect November series, downing Uruguay this afternoon. The 36-10 win follows victories over the USA and Canada.

In losing Los Teros return home winless. Esteban Meneses’ players fell to both Germany and Spain prior to losing in Bucharest. The team will rest up before preparing for the Americas Rugby Championship which gets underway in February.

Against Romania Los Teros started well. The opening quarter was very evenly fought. It took 31 minutes for the game’s first try when New Zealand-born Stephen Shennan scored his first of a double.

A second Shennan try came with one to Johan van Heerden giving the Oaks a sizable lead. Uruguay would eventually score but would not do so until the 73rd minute. Guillermo Lijtenstein’s try came after Romania had scored two more of their own.
