The second of two test matches between Chile and South Korea was played on Saturday. In a stunning comeback, the Asians ran out 38-36 winners. With just over a quarter of the match remaining the South Americans led 36-7 before capitulating.
The 31-point lead had Los Cóndores sitting comfortable. As it turned out they were too comfortable as they failed to finish off what had been a strong performance for the majority of the match. South Korea had been held pointless in the opening half. Meanwhile, the home side was able to run in tries as a win appeared to be highly likely.
For both countries the two-match series was about preparing for 2017. South Korea will be involved in the Asia Rugby Championship and Chile the Americas Rugby Championship. Both competitions will take place in the first half of 2017.
