Matías Orlando was a stand-out in an otherwise underwhelming performance from Argentina. The Tucumán outside center scored Argentina’s one try and also made a clear line break. His break was the only near try by either side in the opening half.
His performance was not only impressive based on attack. Orlando also defended well both as a covering defender, tackling back-rowers and in marking his own opponent.
Argentina’s final match of the year is against England on Saturday. Orlando is likely to be retained in the starting lineup. Daniel Hourcade’s training formation on Monday had Orlando on the right wing. He had switched roles with Matías Orlando.
